For Billy Boyd Sr., owner of Billy Boyd Realty and Construction, Inc., real estate, land development, and home building go hand in hand. After graduating from The University of Alabama, he began home-building in 1964 and opened his own real estate and construction company in 1966. His daughter Julie Boyd Jackson is also a licensed Realtor and builder and has worked in the company with her father for over 30 years.

Boyd strives for excellence in every construction project whether it is residential or commercial, custom or speculative. Each new construction is a hands-on build beginning with Billy and Julie being involved in the designing of the floor plan and being on site every day hand selecting everything including cabinets, fixtures, flooring, and paint colors. New builds and existing homes are sold by the real estate portion of the business, and speculative homes range in price from $250,000 to $1,200,000.
